Lucky German Tourists! I Wish I Could Meet the HPG!

If true and three German tourists have been taken into custody by the Kurdish Freedom Fighters of the HPG on Mount Ararat, then I'm jealous.

Of course, it will of been alarming being taken at gunpoint from a climbing expedition in the middle of the night. But if you have come all the way from Germany for excitement then you could not get much more exciting than this.

Believe me when I say that the German tourists will be treated with customary Kurdish hospitality and will be given everything they need. They will also be in no doubt about why they have been taken from their climbing group in the middle of the night.

This is, in my mind, a message to the German authorities after they banned the Kurdish TV satellite station ROJ TV from broadcasting from German soil. It is a protest against the repressive policies that Germany carries out towards the Kurds in Germany. If there was even a fraction of the media coverage of the repressive policies towards the Kurds in Germany, as there will be to these German tourists, then there would be outrage. Hevallo wrote only a few weeks ago about Germany's repressive policies here.

German authorities regularly carry out raids against Kurdish Community Centres all over Germany and also raid individual Kurdish people's houses taking innocent people away in the middle of the night.

Germany also regularly deports Kurdish refugees back to face continued torture and imprisonment in Turkey from where they had fled Turkey's repressive policies.

Germany is a partner in the massive crimes against humanity perpetrated against the Kurdish people. It has supplied weapons to Turkey and political support by supporting the psychological aspect of labelling the PKK as a 'terrorist' organisation and not a legitimate expression of the Kurdish people's will. Every nation has the right to self determination, a right denied the Kurds.

So, my message to the relatives of these 3 German tourists would be, honestly, don't worry! I'm 99.99% sure that they will not be harmed and will be treated with respect and honour. The only danger will come from the Turkish Army who will be keen to 'label' this action as 'terrorism' etc etc.(If this is a Turkish army provocation where the Turkish army dress up as Kurdish guerillas, then the tourists will be in very grave danger! I really hope it is not!)

However, real 'terrorist' is the Turkish regime who has carried out the dirtiest and most inhumane policy of forced assimilation of the Kurdish people in Turkey. Always with torture, imprisonment, extra judicial killings and psychological labelling. Germany has been and continues to be a partner in crime by acquiescing in Turkey's crimes.

This is the message one should take from these 3 tourists being taken in the middle of the night to 'assist the HPG in their enquires into the crimes of Germany'!

And they will have the added pleasure of meeting with the brave Kurdish Freedom Fighters of the HPG. And the others tourists who are now in Dogubayazit can have a look around at the natural beauty of Dogubayazit, including the Ishak Pasha Palace (above).

They should just relax and enjoy!

People will undoubtedly ask, "But couldn't they get this message out in a different way?"

The answer, unfortunately, is that the Kurdish people have had their voice literally stifled.

All democratic ways are being closed for the Kurds. Ironically, it is Germany who has closed down one channel of communication by banning Roj TV.

This is exactly the point!!!

When one closes all democratic roads and avenues of expression, what other choices are there!!
